Feature Gardens

Featured Gardens

Centennial Parks’ diverse range of some 56 feature gardens provides an equally diverse choice of memorials.

The memorial gardens include native, tropical, herb, traditional rose beds with granite or sandstone surrounds, memorial walls and shrub beds to mention just a few. Depending on preferences there is certainly a wide range of options.

Within these gardens there are further choices such as:

  • Seats – there are numerous memorial seat options where a plaque can be placed and cremated remains interred alongside.

  • Boulders – A very solid memorial to a loved one. A plaque is placed on the boulder and the cremated remains placed in the ground.
  • Trees – Sometimes families wish to have a memorial tree and Centennial Park has a range of options available.
  • Individual Rose – As an alternative to the traditional rose bed, families can choose an individual rose position with a tasteful surround to mark it as exclusive
  • Water feature – There are water features throughout the gardens and all set in picturesque surrounds.

Centennial Park’s professional staff will work closely with you to help identify the most suitable memorial option for you and your family.

Tristania Court

Tristania Court was completely upgraded in 2010 and now consists of attractive granite surround beds in a formal symmetrical design.

As a part of Centennial Park’s environmental commitment the plants are a mix of Australian Natives and succulents. This has resulted in a much more water sensitive garden and includes gravel mulch throughout.

Tristania Court is set with lush garden surroundings and plenty of mature trees providing comforting shade in summer months.

Following the grass paths through the garden there is a central attractive granite tower in the centre which features an ornate and artistic sphere.

The mature surrounding gardens are a haven for over 30 native bird species and add to what is a truly special environment and one where you’ll want to sit on one of the many garden seats and just take it all in.

Tropical

The Tropical area features flowing water and attractive ponds all mixed with lush tropical plantings.

The meandering pathways urge you to explore around the next corner and into almost hidden and private zones.

Like many other garden areas at Centennial Park there are ample mature trees which of course attract native animals and over 30 native bird species. Sitting in this garden area is to enjoy a unique environment with those mature tree canopies to provide shade in summer.

There are a range of memorial options available throughout the area which includes the Tuscan and Herb Gardens.

Located just next to a parking area it is a very convenient area to access.

Peace Court

Set within the beautiful Sanctuary Gardens area, Peace Court certainly lives up to its name.

This garden has an attractive water feature at its centre and is progressively surrounded by stunningly presented  garden beds. Beginning immediately around the water feature are smaller granite beds expanding to outer rings of raised natural sandstone garden beds. These raised beds make it easier for the placement of floral tributes.

The gardens provide a mix of roses and native shrubs which in all results in an extremely rich diversification of colours.

The area was completely upgraded in 2009 and is now a truly unique and outstanding garden.

Springbank West

This new garden feature is on the western side of South Australia’s first and only memorial island, Springbank Island.

In what is simply a stunning setting this garden is the latest in an area of expanding new memorial gardens.

It features native beds with sweeping grass edging and includes very appealing Weeping Acacia plants.

A large and enthralling sculpture of two touching hands forms a centre piece of this new area.

To the eastern side of this garden is the water and fish filled surround of Springbank Island while to the west is open land ready for future highly attractive memorial garden developments.

The area is also adjacent to Contemplation Court . This is a temporary memorial area provided free-of-charge where families and loved ones can visit while a more permanent resting place is chosen.

Springbank West has much to offer and will continue to evolve into further exciting and stunning garden developments.

Charles Newman Rose Garden

If it’s a more formal symmetrical structure and design that suits then this may be just the right area.

It's simply a spectacular vista looking across the five tiers of Charles Newman Rose Garden and during its peak flowering times is a rose garden second to absolutely none.

The garden also has four tantalising fountains that just add to the overall atmosphere of this beautiful area.

A central Wisteria Arbour walk runs the length of Charles Newman Rose Garden which provides a dazzling display of additional colour when in flower.

There is a wide range of choice in this area from individual roses, to rose beds and even wall options.
