Remembrance Day 2023
Remembrance Day is a time to commemorate Australian and allied countries’ military personnel – those who served in war, conflict, or peacekeeping missions. Centennial Park marks this day with a Remembrance Day Service, held at the Cross of Remembrance, Derrick Gardens; the final resting place of more than 4,500 service men and women.
Our service will commence with an official procession, led by the distinctive sound of the Scotch College Pipes and Drums Band. The Catafalque Party, consisting of dedicated members from Re-Enact SA, will stand alongside Cadets from the Australian Navy, Australian Army and Australian Air Force. Walford Anglican School for Girls Choir will perform, and an official wreath laying ceremony will pay tribute to our fallen comrades.
Visitors are welcome to attend and place a wreath or personal tribute, following the official wreath laying. We ask that wreaths be environmentally friendly and made from natural materials with no lacquer spray.
Lest we forget.
