Changes to Board of SA’s Premier Cemetery

Occupying 40 hectares of stunning grounds in Adelaide’s inner south, Centennial Park provides a sanctuary for renewal, hope and healing for all who visit.

Owned by the Cities of Mitcham and Unley, we are completely self-funded and governed by our own Board.

Previously a Board of seven, including four members appointed by the owner councils, the owner councils recently amended Centennial Park’s Governing Charter to change the Board composition to a fully independent Board of five members.

“The move to a fully independent Board is a significant milestone in the 85-year history of the Park, and a sign of the confidence that the owner councils have in the strategic management and direction of the Park”, said Chair Amanda Heyworth.

With the recent appointment of Loewn Steel and Greg Stirling to the Board, the transition to a fully independent Board is now complete.

Loewn and Greg join Chair Amanda Heyworth, Deputy Chair Andrew Kay, and Independent Member Todd Davies who was appointed in July this year.
