Light the Park Blue 9 to 17 October 2021

October is Mental Health Awareness Month; the national program aims to improve community awareness of mental health and interest in mental wellbeing. This year’s theme is ‘We all have a role to play’.

To acknowledge Mental Health Month, Centennial Park will be lighting the Park Blue.  Blue is the colour of the mind, calming, reflecting inner peace, serenity, and healing.

A wash of blue will light the perimeter of the Park from dusk into the evening. Light the Park Blue recognises those affected by a range of mental illnesses, their family and friends, the greater community and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide, some who are memorialised within our Park and gardens.

Centennial Park hopes to encourage open conversations about emotional and mental wellbeing within the community.
