This year Centennial Park has registered to be a collection point for the Share the Dignity Christmas campaign, called It’s In The Bag.

Share the Dignity is a charity that works directly with vulnerable women and women in crisis.  The charity collects personal hygiene products for women experiencing homelessness and poverty, funds funerals for victims of domestic violence, and campaigns for justice for women.

The campaign’s aim is to collect and distribute personal hygiene products and everyday luxuries to homeless women, women at risk, or women experiencing domestic violence.

Simply choose a handbag in good condition that you (or someone you know) no longer uses, fill it with items that would make a woman feel special – shampoo, conditioner, sanitary items, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, body wash etc.   You can also include a note or Christmas card to show the person receiving the bag that there is someone who cares.

Then drop off the bag to the Centennial Park Administration Building.

We will be collecting donations from 16 November to 30 November Monday to Friday during business hours.

You have the power to make life better for a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty this Christmas.
